Dear Little Girl Next Door, aren’t you tired of doing the expected? Of being the predictable one? The one who everybody else has all “figured out”. Aren’t you exhausted of trying to “fit in”?
The one who wouldn’t dare upset the others, the one who wouldn’t dare speak out.
Always the proper. Always the decorous.
Isn’t it amusing to do something incongruous?
Doesn’t it excite your nerves to shock everyone around?
Does it not fill your heart with a sense of exhilleration when the world seems so astounded by you?
Its exciting to do something unexpected. Its exciting to be bold and extravagant!
You don’t owe anybody anything. You dont have to be the doormat, for everyone to trample upon so nonchalantly, as if thats all you were meant for.
You have the right to be audacious, to be bold and indecorous. To do what “isn’t done”
You aren’t a shadow filled with tenebrosity, who follows and hides in the dark, voiceless and inaudible. Afraid to be struck by that ray of light.
You are not the little caterpillar hiding in her chrysalis, away from the formidable and spine chilling world.
You dont have to be all sweet and no spice. You can be layered and laminated with all the complexities in the world. And thats okay.
Its time to break free from the cocoon and to fly, to soar with those beautiful and intricate wings of yours.
You aren’t that little teddybear in hibernation, anymore.
You are wild and free, strong and sturdy. silent but sinewy and formidable.
And now, the sparkle in your eye, says it all.
